DA Steel building partnership men shaking hands

Long-time community supporter agrees to five-year naming partnership on Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre trade hall

Lethbridge, Alta. – DA Steel Buildings, a long-time community-based business, is helping to bring people together in Southern Alberta. DA Steel Buildings has agreed to a five-year naming commitment for a trade hall within the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre.

The DA Steel Buildings Hall is one of four trade halls in the new centre, and is located closest to the main entrance. At 26,000 square feet, with a state-of-the-art reinforced concrete floor, the DA Steel Buildings Hall is ideally suited to host trade shows, agriculture events, community gatherings, and a wide-variety of entertainment options.

“Partners like DA Steel Buildings are helping to bring this facility to life,” says Mike Warkentin, Lethbridge & District Exhibition CEO. “Their commitment shows their belief in our community, and how hosting large-scale events can benefit our economy, and generate jobs and business for the region.”

DA Steel Buildings was founded in Lethbridge in 1980 by Doug Grenier and Del Allen. Over more than 40 years, the company has taken pride in being one of the few companies in Canada that sources local materials, fabricates in their own facility, and constructs with their own crews. The company supplies custom buildings across Western Canada and Montana.

“For over four decades we have been proud to be an integral part of the fabric of the agricultural landscape in Southern Alberta,” says Doug Atwood, DA Steel Buildings President and CEO. “From state-of-the-art potato storage facilities, hog, poultry, and cattle barns to mechanic shops, equipment storage buildings, hay sheds, and even the odd barndominium, DA Steel Buildings has been there supporting those who put food on our tables. We are excited to now partner with Lethbridge & District Exhibition as we celebrate and promote this beautiful new facility and really, all of the hard-working people who are part of the Ag Industry in this area.”

The 268,000 Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre, operated by Lethbridge & District Exhibition, revolutionizes Lethbridge’s ability to host major provincial, national, and international conferences, while providing a gathering space the Southern Alberta community can be proud of. The facility’s grand opening takes place on Thursday, Aug. 10. The community is invited to see the DA Steel Buildings Hall and the rest of the building during a public open house on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn more at agrifoodhub.ca.
