Lethbridge & District Siksikaitsitapi Princess Pageant

AUGUST 20 | 1 PM - 5 PM

The Princess Pageant celebrates Indigenous girls while showcasing Siksikaitsitapi culture and heritage. The crowned Miss Siksikaitsitapi winners will represent Lethbridge & District Exhibition and the Siksikaitsitapi - Blackfoot Confederacy as an ambassador throughout the year by continuing and sharing the rich traditions, culture, and heritage of Indigenous peoples.

Pageant contestants compete in one of three categories: Tiny Tots, Junior, or Senior. They will be scored on their essay submission, speech, dance, and talent showcase, and will participate in the Whoop-Up Days Parade. Winners are crowed on Wednesday, August 22.

Relay Races

AUGUST 22 - 24 | 7 PM
INCLUDED WITH PRO RODEO TICKET

In Relay Races, phenomenal riders showcase their skills in bareback riding as they race around the arena, then jump off their horse and up onto another for the next lap. Yes, it's as exciting and impressive as it sounds.

Featured nightly, the Relay Races are one of the most high-intensity elements of the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo. Often referred to as “North America’s original extreme sport” the races have been a part of Indigenous life for hundreds of years.

While this event is promoted by Whoop-Up Days, it is hosted by the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo, which is the only professional rodeo in Canada to include Relay Races as part of their main events.
