The Wildlife Festival brings live reptiles to Whoop-Up Days to explore similarities between the mythical beasts and real-world animals

Lethbridge, Alta. – A fan-favourite traveling exhibit returns to Lethbridge as part of Whoop-Up Days, as the Wildlife Festival brings a wide selection of reptiles to the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre from Aug. 22 to 26. The Wildlife Festival combines education and entertainment, allowing visitors to get up-close with real-life animals.

For Whoop-Up Days, the Wildlife Festival is bringing “Living Dragons” to Lethbridge, an exhibit with iguanas, snakes, dragons, and more, that examines the similarities between the mythical beasts and real-world reptiles.

“We have seen first-hand the excitement the Wildlife Festival brings each time they visit,” says Mike Warkentin, Lethbridge & District Exhibition CEO. “The opportunity for visitors to see and interact with these animals brings joy to all ages, and we know it will add an exciting element to Whoop-Up Days. It continues our commitment to ensuring there is a variety of entertainment for everyone.”

The Wildlife Festival, which has toured Western Canada since 2015, is promoted by Calgary’s YYC Nature & Education Centre, and Cobb’s Adventure Park & Exotic Animal Rescue. This interactive experience highlights animals and their habitats. Its mission is to inspire and educate people of all ages by connecting with animals. With educational displays and interactive experiences with the animals, the goal is to teach, entertain and delight all who attend. “Living Dragons” is the Wildlife Festival’s latest touring attraction.

“Dragons have captured humans’ imaginations for thousands of years and reptiles have many similarities to the mythical creatures,” says Jason Clevett, Wildlife Festival. “This will allow visitors to have up-close experiences with dragons, iguanas, snakes, and more, without the fire breathing. Explore the connections between the scaled beasts of stories and our own ‘Living Dragons!’”

Free gate admission to Whoop-Up Days is fuelled by Gas King, and admission to the Wildlife Festival exhibit will be by donation, with proceeds going to the care of animals. “Living Dragons” runs daily until 8 p.m. at Whoop-Up Days in Salon A of the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre.
